The calculator's kVA bracket follows the methodology in the sizing guide — running watts, motor start-up surge, the 80 percent rule and a 0.8 power factor. The checklist operationalises the storm-season maintenance guide: service, fuel, household plan, information. There is no SEAI grant for generators, so the calculator's budget band is money you plan to spend in full.
